Slaughtering Eve

How many women worldwide die each year, due to gender-based violence?
I used to search for these figures without finding them;  all I could get were partial results, from this or that country.

I've searched at ONU website and found nothing.


Neverthless, the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces, which report has been published by the UNICEF, estimates such deaths.

Study made by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces, Women in an unsafe world, published in 2005, establishes a 100-200 million women deficit worldwide and estimates that 1.5 to 3 million women are killed worldwide each year, due to gender related violence.  As the study reports,  violence against women kills, every 2-4 years, as many as the Jewish Holocaust has killed.
