Empress Leopoldina declared Brazilian Independence

8th March Special

No book on the History of Brazil tells the truth:  Brazilian Independence was declare on the 2nd of September,  1822, by decree of Empress Mary Leopoldina, the sitting ruler in that very moment.  Brazilian historians instead credit the Independence to Emperor Peter I of Brazil, who supposedly declared it on a horseback, on the 7th September, 1822.

Emperor Peter I travelled from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo in order to avoid an uprising.  Before the trip, on 13th August, 1822, Peter I had bestowed his powers on his wife, appointing her acting princess regent.

I got to know this fact, for the first time, watching an astrologist's lecture!  Not a historian's!

On 8th March, the President of the Brazilian Supreme Court informed the country about this deliberately hidden truth:  Brazilian Independence was declared on 2nd September, when the Empress assembled the State Council and signed the decree declaring Brazil separated from Portugal.
